Have you ever received ProLaw Event reminders from past events?

If you have ProLaw integrated with your Exchange server, you may have had event reminders emailed to you for past events.  This can be triggered through many different events, the most common being a new smart phone device syncing with a calendar.  This changes the “fingerprint” on the ProLaw event, and if Bi-Directional events are turned on, ProLaw thinks its new and emails all the people associated with that event!

This can be averted with a Exchange Agent switch that is not listed in the documentation.  This switch only works for Exchange 2003 and the current version of the Exchange Agent.

To enable this switch, go into the properties of the ComPlus application, and in the description field you will see your other configuration options.

Simply add a swtich “/RedirectOldNotifications=.;” and restart the agent.

Note: the above example uses a “.” for the email.  This means they will NOT be sent to anyone.  You could specify an email if there is someone that should be receiving them.  This will prevent the agent from sending emails for events older than 2 days.
