Working with law firms we realize that part of everyday workflow includes re-purposing documents and forwarding them for collaboration and review. What many firms are still realizing is that the metadata in those documents is often available for anyone who is willing to look for it. There are a variety of metadata removal solutions available, however, we encourage you to look closely at how your firm sends documents before choosing one. For example a desktop metadata removal solution is not going to remove the metadata from the document that is being forwarded and/or changed from a mobile device such as an iPad or smartphone.
How many of your attorneys work from home, or from their iPads and iPhones? Are they forwarding documents that may have metadata?
