SQL tip for ProLaw Queries: LEN and DATALENGTH on different data types

When queryuing various information from ProLaw through reports or the SQL Management Studio, its important to know which fields are TEXT, VARCHAR, or other forms of strings as the functions used to call the data can vary. Error or hang when opening documents from a Document search in ProLaw’s Events module

If you are running ProLaw 11.x and Office 2010, you may occasionally experience this bug.  There may be an error in ProLaw along the lines of “unable to accept the drop” in the Events window.  This only happens with documents from the Events window, they work correctly when opened from the events tab in Matters.

Ebills having strange formatting issues in ProLaw?

ecently a client opened a support ticket due to an issue with their ebill statement formats.  Spaces were being “removed” from the final bill.  The reference field for the infomation showed a space between words, but the corresponding txt file that generated showed none!  The ebill files were rejected as a result of the missing space.
